Applying Vibro-Pulse 3 times a day for 30 minutes per treatment
combined with standard antibiotic therapy has clinically
demonstrated that:
- Vibro-Pulse increases localised blood flow and microcirculation
within the skin. Enhancing the effectiveness of the antibiotics
and reducing the oedema /swelling associated with the
infection.
Resulting in:
-
Up to a 50% reduction in treatment time compared to
using antibiotics alone.
-
Improve patient outcome, reduce recovery rates, reduce
the cost of successful treatment.
-
Prevent hospital admission for treatment.

What is Cellulitis / Erysipelas?
Cellulitis / Erysipelas is a very common skin infection
resulting in over 60,000 hospital admissions per annum in
England and is recognised as a major consumer of healthcare
resource see Department of Health: http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publicationsandstatistics/Pressreleases/DH_4131823
It most commonly occurs in the lower leg and is characterised
by local heat, redness, pain, swelling/ oedema and erythematous
tissue that may be well demarcated or more diffuse but can
spread rapidly. Streptococci and Staphylococcus aureus are
the most common causes of the infection with potential entry
sites being leg ulcers, toe-web maceration, a traumatic
wound and tinea pedis. Other predisposing factors include
leg oedema/lymphoedema, peripheral vascular disease, diabetes
and obesity.
Cellulitis leads to chronic oedema in 7% of patients, and
29% of patients experience a recurrence of cellulitis within
a mean of three years.
The main difference between cellulitis and erysipelas is
that erysipelas affects the layers of skin nearer the surface.
Thus, the inflamed skin may be raised above the normal skin
around it.
Traditionally initial treatment is oral or intravenous
(IV) antibiotic therapy and bed rest to help reduce the
associated oedema and pain this results in an average of
8 to 11 treatment days for recovery.
Reduce that treatment time by up to 50% applying Vibro-Pulse
3 x a day for 30 minutes in hospital or simple enough to
use at home preventing hospital admission.
